Shane Watson has been a busy member in the Australian squad for quite a while, although his induction in the test team came quite late. He has been quite an asset providing balance to the team by contributing both with the bat and the ball. However his recent performances have become a cause of worry for the selectors and has turned into a bane for the team. 29 Number of times Shane Watson has been dismissed LBW in Tests, the most for any Australian batsman in the last 10 years.
Such has been his consistency in delivering disappointing performances that he was rewarded with the acronym LBW i.e. ‘leg before Watson’.

So, what’s the reason for this? Has he come of age? Or is it due to some flaw in his technique? Whatever it is, the clock is ticking fast for him and soon he might fall prey to the strict Australian selection standards.
His recent failures can be attributed to both the above mentioned causes. His feet movement has been restricted over past few years and he often tends to get stuck on the crease. This makes him an easy target for LBWs.
So it’s high time Watson did some homework and retrospect on his flaws otherwise today he has been dropped for one match but later he might be dropped forever.
