Former Australian leg-spinner and Rajasthan Royals mentor Shane Warne is thoroughly impressed by Royals player Sanju Samson. The 23-year old has had a great run in the ongoing 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Now, Warne?has said that the Rajasthan Royals’ wicketkeeper-batsman could be the next superstar of the Indian cricket.

Samson has scored a total of 379 runs in just 12 games for the Rajasthan Royals, averaging 34.45. RR mentor, Warne cannot help gushing over “new rockstar” Samson.

“He’s good against pace and spin in all conditions and I think he’s going to be the next superstar of Indian cricket. He’s the new rock star, Sanju Samson, that’s for sure. He’s an outstanding player and he’s a quality international cricketer,” said the Australian.

So far, Sanju Samson has had one international appearance during a T20I match against Zimbabwe in 2015. The 48-year old Australian has insisted that the Rajasthan Royals youngster and Delhi Daredevils’ Rishabh Pant are rare talents. He truly believes that the two players deserve a chance in the national side.

“India at the moment are blessed with some riches of talent. I think our man, Sanju Samson, is right up there with (Rishabh) Pant. I think those two guys are probably the two best young Indian batsmen I’ve seen in a long, long time,” the former leg-spinner said.

The inaugural champions, Rajasthan Royals, have won their last three IPL matches this season. These wins were bolstered by three consecutive ‘man of the match’ performances by England batsman Jos Buttler. The Rajasthan Royals will now lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday, 16th May at 8pm.

They currently sit 5th on the IPL table and are pitched in a death match of sorts. The winner of Tuesday’s match will qualify for the IPL 2018 plaoffs
