Sometime ago, Lewis Hamilton gave his prediction on who would be the 2019 F1 title contenders. Now, Sebastian Vettel has weighed in his own opinion on the title challengers for this season.
While Lewis Hamilton named Vettel and Max Verstappen along with himself, Vettel disagrees. The Ferrari driver believes that the drivers in the top 3 teams are in with a shout.
Speaking to RaceFans, he said, “I can only speak for myself, but I think there are three large teams again and all those teams have enough potential to take the world title this year,”

“We look at ourselves first and we are hopefully faster than everyone else, but I think it will be very tight.”
Apart from the usual suspects, Vettel has even backed his teammate Charles LeClerc to be a threat. Aside from him, Valtteri Bottas has proven that his poor 2018 form is history. Meanwhile, Pierre Gasly has not exactly set the stage alight, but he is still a force to be reckoned with.
Regarding the young Frenchman, Vettel said, “I think that Pierre had a little bad luck [ on Saturday]. I think he did no worse than Max Verstappen seen over the entire weekend.”
“I think that all six drivers of the top teams will get involved in the fight. Hopefully, we can continue to fight as long as possible to make the decision later in the season.”So far, the Australian GP has wrapped up and the F1 paddock are heading to Bahrain for the next race. Will Valtteri Bottas continue his winning form from Australia or will Lewis Hamilton regain his mojo? In Melbourne, Ferrari struggled and was the slowest of the three teams, can they get back on their feet? Finally, Max Verstappen scored Honda’s maiden podium but can he go one better or is this a one-off for Red Bull?
