At the season-opener at Albert Park, it was a rather startling sight to see Ferrari miss the podium. What turned out as the biggest surprise wasn’t only that the Red cars failed to step on the podium; but rather the margin of their defeat to Mercedes. Sebastian Vettel finished over 57 seconds behind race-winner Valtteri Bottas.

This, without a doubt, left a lot of scope for post-race analysis and discussions that continue to this day endlessly so over social media and anywhere where F1 is considered a pure passion.

But while Sebastian Vettel, fourth at the Australian Grand Prix, put up a brave face in the post-race evaluation, it ought to be said, he must have wondered about the Ferrari pace.

After all, where the 2017 and 2018 Grands Prix have stood, there’s been only one man dominating the proceedings; the four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel.

So what on earth has happened now that is making some news?

Well, turns out that in his assessment of the Ferrari pace (rather the lack of it) Red Bull’s Dr. Helmut Marko has leveled a reason behind Ferrari’s faltering pace. So what exactly was his finding, you might ask?

In his interaction with the media, Dr. Helmut Marko– someone with whom Sebastian Vettel has worked closely in the past- shared that Ferrari suffered from cooling problems in Oz.

And to this, the German made a direct albeit uncomplicated reply. Sebastian Vettel has quite simply downplayed the observations suggested by Dr. Helmut Marko. In his interaction with the media, Vettel stated, ”

“We found some answers, but whether we have them all, we don’t know.”

Furthermore, upon arriving at Bahrain where he shared the above, Sebastian Vettel also made what could be called a bit of trenchant criticism of Dr. Marko’s remarks.

“I don’t think our situation is too different from the other teams,” Vettel said.

“As for Helmut, after the race in Australia he was asleep on the plane, so I’m not sure when he managed to analyze everything,” he laughed.
