Indian Tennis Star Sania Mirza seemed to have recovered from a disappointing Olympic campaign, as she roared back to form, winning two titles in two weeks on the American subcontinent. Partnering Monica Niculescu of Romania, the two beat the pairing of Kateryna Bondarenko of Ukraine and Chuang Chia-Jung of Taiwan 7-5, 6-4 in almost 90 minutes to clinch the title on Saturday.

This is the second title for Sania since her split with Martina Hingis, a pairing considered as one of the most successful and dominant partnerships in recent times. Mirza won the Cincinnati Open last week, when she partnered Barbora Strycova of the Czech Republic to down the pairing of Hingis and American Coco Vandeweghe.

The wins just highlight Sania’s versatility: her ability to win titles with different partners, and how to adapt to the situation quickly. Putting her Rio loss behind, Sania will head into the US Open this coming week on a high note.

The 29 year old World No.1 will pair up with Cincinnati partner Strycova  at the US Open. The two are strong contenders for the title and given their display of tennis last week, we see no reason why they shouldn’t be.
