Premier League club Southampton are set to announce the signing of right-back Cedric Soares, from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon.
The 23-year old Portuguese is about to pen down a 4 year deal with the south coast club after the two clubs agreed a fee of about £3.5m.
Soares came through the ranks at Sporting Lisbon and made his senior debut at the age of 19 and has since played 67 games for Portuguese club. Soares was part of the winning team which won the Portuguese Cup this season.
The 23 year old right-back has represented Portugal at every level right from Under-16s to the National senior side, gaining 72 youth caps and 3 caps for national side.
Soares is expected to be replace Nathaniel Clyne, who is looking set to leave St.Mary’s with Manchester United and Liverpool both looking to sign the player.
The signing of Cedric Soares will be second of the week for Dutch manager Ronald Koeman after Southampton signed Malaga forward Juanmi earlier this week for fee of around £5m.
