“You know, I think we play for each other. We obviously play for our countries and our continent and our tour and everything else. But, you know, I think, that overwriting feeling every year that we come to Ryder Cup is we play for the guy that stands next to us. And you know, we don’t want to let them down. And so that’s the thing. That’s why our team dynamic works so well,” he added.
Furthermore, when asked about how are they going to win it, Rory McIlroy humorously answered that by scoring “14 and a half points.” But then he elucidated it further and said, “We play our games; we be ourselves. We play for each other. And we focus on our little European cocoon. Don’t let anything else get to us or get in our way, and if we do that, we’ll have a good chance.”
