Tiger Woods is not only one of the best golfers, but he is also one of the best observers. While his skills on the golf course are, of course, undoubtable, he is also said to be one of the wittiest and a great trash talker as well. Furthermore, he is also a great team member who tries to ease out the tension.

Webb Simpson, who is one of his close friends, shared an untold story about Tiger Woods. He shared an incident from the 2012 Ryder Cup where Team Europe had registered an incredible victory.

Webb Simpson shares an incredible incident of Tiger Woods

Webb Simpson shared an amazing incident with Tiger Woods from the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah. “It was the final day I was playing Poulter and on the eighth hole, the par-three. And I tried to smash it, I got a little ahead of it, and I shanked it. So my first thought is, this is heading over towards the fourth tee. And I did the math, and that’s where probably about where Tiger is right now.”

Hence, Simpson thought he probably needs to move a lot of people, and it’s going to be a huge scene. Moreover, he also thought Tiger now might make fun of him for the rest of his life. But thankfully, Woods had already gone through ahead. Hence, there was no need to worry for Simpson.

But soon after finishing the round, everyone was sitting in the locker room waiting to go as they had lost the Ryder Cup. But then suddenly Tiger called Webb and asked him a question. “He said the wind was tricky out there, wasn’t it? I’m like, yeah, it was tricky, but in my mind, I’m like, why is he talking about the wind right now? The tournament is over,” continued Webb.

“He said, where do you guys have the wind on five? And I thought about it for a second, right to left. And then he asked about eight, and he started smiling. I put it all together that he knew that I shanked it even though it wasn’t there, and he’s trying to just bring a smile for a moment to the team room when we’re all down. Everyone saw started laughing. He started laughing, and we still talk about the story now,” concluded Simpson.
