Nicklaus praised the team for the quick lead taken by them on the first 2 days, which set up for an amazing climax on Sunday. The officials named Dustin Johnson and Sergio Garcia as the inaugural winners of the Nicklaus-Jacklin award.

Aon presents this award in honor of Jack Nicklaus and Tony Jacklin. It is based on the famous ‘concession’ when Nicklaus conceded a two-foot-long putt to the latter, which resulted in a halved match. It was introduced this year and is awarded to a golfer for their outstanding sportsmanship and teamwork.
