Ryan Garcia made a shocking revelation of parting ways with his long-time trainer Eddy Reynoso, as he is eyeing a return against Emmanuel Tagoe on April 9. Despite being on an unbeaten run under Team Canelo, ‘KingRy’ has opted to take his training sessions with Hall of Famer coach Joe Cusumano.
This came in the wake of his absence from boxing action for more than a year. Garcia looked vulnerable in his last outing against Luke Campbell, where he suffered his first knockdown of pro-career.
However, he rose back and stopped his British rival to earn the WBC Interim lightweight title. Well, several factors hampered his activeness from that point. While he will be making his comeback in the ring, the young gun exclusively revealed why he chose to exit Team Canelo.

Ryan Garcia said, “You know guys in regards to switching trainers, it had nothing to do with bad blood or ego or any hard feelings. It’s just, I would say time. That’s basically it, knowing that you got to get to work and you know Eddy [Reynoso] is very busy and I respect it and he has to do what he has to do. So you know, just move forward and keep grinding.”
Eddy Reynoso has sheltered some of the brightest names of boxing and his stable still boasts Oscar Valdez, Canelo Alvarez, Andy Ruiz Jr, amongst several others. That said, Garcia will no longer be a part of that family.
