DICE made major headlines earlier this year with the announcement of Battlefield 2042. The popular developers had revealed the latest iteration of the iconic FPS franchise to much fanfare. During E3 2021, fans of the franchise received a massive shock with some enthralling trailers that captivated their attention. After the dismal Battlefield V, it seemed like the franchise will soon get back on track.
However, it seems like fans of the series might have to wait some more with rumors about a delay. With an October 22 release date, the developers should have began the Open Beta program by now. But, that hasn’t happened, and according to industry insiders, it looks like DICE might have announcements about a delay very soon.
It also seems like all of this is an unfolding thing right now internally – But we will definitely hear what's up by the end of the week. Dates are horrible to tweet about because they can change so easily, but this is what I've heard.

Battlefield 2042 rumored to have a month long delay
Popular Industry insider Tom Henderson recently shared some dismal news for fans of the iconic franchise. For the past few weeks, a lot of rumors had circulated about a possible delay for Battlefield 2042. The game set to release on October 22 has been in turmoil with no major news about it for weeks now.
Henderson mentioned that the game will have delays soon. But, it won’t be delayed for months, which has been the more popular rumor on the Internet right now. He stated that the delay will only be a few weeks long. So most probably, the game might be shifted to a late November release date. This will put Battlefield 2042 between the release windows of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Halo: Infinite.
Beta doesn't seem to be delayed thus far. Sept 22nd is still the date.
