The Los Angeles Dodgers have long been a powerhouse, but now, according to some, they’re guilty of an even greater crime—ruining baseball itself. Manager Dave Roberts isn’t having any of it, though, firing back at critics with the kind of confidence you’d expect from a man leading one of the most dominant teams in the league.
With the addition of some great talents and experienced veterans, the Dodgers are looking stronger than ever. But this has led to many believing that the Dodgers are destroying baseball.
And when Dave Roberts heard this, he put an instant end to it.

While in an interview with Fox 11 channel, the interviewer asked, “Are the Dodgers destroying baseball?” Dave Roberts had a very fitting comeback. “The short answer is no we are not.”

Many questioned the signings made by the Dodgers. Many of the rivals said that the Dodgers are cheating by differing the salaries of players. There were claims that the Dodgers used illegal ways to get the signings done.
Really?
Dave Roberts explains that the invested money is the fruits that they are reaping for the seeds that were sown.
Most of the money has come from their merchandise sales, fans’ attendance, and other activities that brought people together. Well, tbh, how can you overlook the immense following that the Dodgers have?
Dave Roberts was also very happy that, unlike some other teams, LA has started to use the money to improve the team and the franchise.
Love them or hate them, the Dodgers are playing by the rules—and playing to win. If spending money to build a juggernaut is a crime, then baseball history is littered with guilty franchises.
Seems like debates around the Dodgers will keep going – that’s maybe because they are winning. And that is the only thing that matters.
Dodgers at a crossroads: Will Dave Roberts get the extension he deserves?
Dave Roberts has led the Dodgers to years of dominance, a World Series title, and more postseason appearances than most teams dream of—yet his job security is always a topic of debate. With his contract situation looming, the question isn’t just whether he deserves an extension, but whether the Dodgers will actually give him one.
After all, winning is everything… until it isn’t.
The Dodgers’ front office, led by Andrew Friedman, has acknowledged that discussions are ongoing and that they want Roberts to remain in charge. “We are in conversations,” Friedman confirmed, emphasizing that the organization recognizes Roberts’ contributions.
The Dodgers demonstrate an intense willingness to pay top dollar for elite players. Yet they display restraint when offering an extension to Roberts. Managers such as Craig Counsell earned $40 million for his new contract with the Cubs. While Dodgers manager Dave Roberts receives just $3 million annually as his compensation.
If the Dodgers truly value continuity and leadership, locking in Roberts with a market-level contract should be a no-brainer.

Roberts, for his part, remains optimistic but has hinted that the financial aspect of the deal matters. “It’s about value. And I love this organization, but yeah, you want to feel your value. Absolutely.”

His tenure as a manager has seen historic success. That is mainly due to his ability to handle high-pressure situations and a clubhouse filled with stars.
The Dodgers generate financial power through their record ticket as well as merchandise sales and television contracts spurred by their winning success. If they’re willing to break the bank for players, why hesitate when it comes to the man managing them?
Roberts’ situation boils down to a simple equation: If the Dodgers let him go, there will be no shortage of teams lining up with a lucrative offer. With spring training underway, the Dodgers have a choice: reward the man who has kept them at the top or risk creating unnecessary turbulence.

Of course, the front office could always roll the dice on an unproven manager. But then again, why fix something that isn’t broken?
