Bangladesh all-rounder Rubel Hossain, disappointed by his exclusion from the Test squad against India, is gearing up for the ODI series.  Quite pumped up with the training sessions, the Bangladesh all-rounder is all set to stage a show against India in the ODI series starting from 18th June. Bangladesh coach Chandika Hathurusingha has said that Rubel was rested so as to keep him fresh and active for the ODI series.

Rubel Hossain said while talking to Daily Star,” “Bangladesh does not get to play too many Tests, so obviously I am a little disappointed to miss out. But there’s nothing I can do now. All I am looking forward to is the ODI series. I want to be completely ready and match-fit by the time the ODIs begin. I really want to put in a good performance against India.”

Talking about the health issues, Rubel replied that, “I am good at the moment. I have recovered. There’s nothing to worry, I won’t say that I am not fully fit, but for a Test match one needs to have an extra amount of preparation”.

The 25-year all-rounder has laid eyes on the goal of getting into the Test squad for the upcoming series against South Africa. He said, “I wasn’t selected for the Test match, but it’s not as though I don’t see a future for myself in this format of the game. I already have the South Africa Tests in my mind and I am going to do everything I can to be completely ready for that.”

The young pacer was instrumental in Bangladesh’s dream run in the ICC World Cup 2015.
