Cristiano Ronaldo have been given a two match ban after his sending-off for kicking out at Cordoba defender Edimar on Saturday.
The forward will miss the next two La Liga games for Los Blancos which are against Real Sociedad and Sevilla. But Ronaldo will consider himself lucky since he will be back for the all important Madrid derby, which he would have missed if he was given the traditional 3 match ban after getting a straight red card.
Real have struggled against their cross city rivals, and the fact that their talisman striker is back for the match is a big boost.
The ban gives promising youngster Jesse Rodriguez a chance who recently made a come back from injury.
