The Italian club Roma seem eager to sign the Manchester City striker, Edin Dzeko.
The previous deal between the two clubs had supposedly hit a standstill after they failed to agree on a £14 million bid from the Italian counterpart. Though, the English club wants at least £20 million for the super sub, as they look to offload him to make room for the Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling.
The Sporting Director of Roma, Walter Sabatini flew to Manchester yesterday as he hopes to seal the deal on a face-to-face basis, some images of the meet were put up on the Twitter as well.
Although it is understood that City doesn’t feel the will to sell the Bosnian International anytime soon, the player himself would have less playing time, which might twist the case to Roma’s favour. The 29-year-old has been a brilliant striker, but last season wasn’t his best as City lost the title race against Chelsea.
Ever since signing from Wolfsburg, back in 2011 for £27 million, in his 100 appearances for the club he scored 50 goals. Apart from this, Dzeko is also the lifetime highest scorer of the Bosnian National side with 42 goals in 72 matches.
Roma are also on the lookout for the 24-year-old Mattia Destro and have been in contact with West Ham for the same.
