The Argentinian Defender, Marcos Rojo who played for the international side in the recent 2014 FIFA World Cup, recently stated that it would be a ‘dream’ to play for a club such as the 20 times champion, Manchester United. Sporting Lisbon have been offered a 20 million for Rojo with Nani for a full season loan. But it is still in doubt if Nani agrees to this deal or whether he’d go out for other options.
“It feels like a dream, to be a Manchester United player,” said the defender. He also added that he was very grateful for getting a chance to work with likes of Louis Van Gaal.
The 24 year old centre back joined Sporting Lisbon for 3.5 million after playing a mere 8 games for Spartak Moscow. He also played for Estudiantes LP for 11 years including his youth career. He has 49 appearances for Sporting Lisbon and has netted the ball 5 times in the back of the goal.
After he refused to train with the Sporting players when the first MUFC bid was rejected, he later apologised for the misunderstanding and also stated that he didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.
As Louis Van Gaal has devised the new 3-5-2 formation with three centre backs, it would be perfectly ideal for Rojo to get into the action after getting to know that Luke Shaw won’t be starting until the end of the next month.
