Uniqlo Life Wear ambassadors from the sport of tennis and golf, Roger Federer and Adam Scott exchanged views about their experience with the apparel brand. For an athlete, sponsorship is more than a mere financing element. They are a crucial part of the athlete’s team and work with them for the athlete’s success.
Federer joined Uniqlo about a year ago, and Scott has been endorsing the brand for the past six years. “For me, the journey has been a shorter one but I am equally pleased and happy to be part of the family,” Roger Federer described it to Scott.
“I remember you were very happy when you heard I was coming to Uniqlo. What I really love about Uniqlo is its values, from topdown of the Uniqlo family to its ambassadors and everybody is in line with those values. How they go about sports, how they treat others and especially I know they are always in your corner.”

Uniqlo is considerate about Federer’s other engagements in life especially his role as a family man. Roger Federer will be turning 38 next week, and the clothing brand also takes an interest in his post-retirement life.
“They always wanted to succeed but not only in sports but also in life, and that’s where maybe Life Wear comes in. For me, it was really striking and eye-opening how much they cared for me as a father, family man, husband, player, and person and how that was equally important to them as the next match,” he added.
“Normally in sports, we are measured or judged from last or next performance and of course Uniqlo would love to see me win every tournament that I play, but they also know that this is maybe so much more, we could do so much more together,” Federer said.

Undoubtedly, Federer’s looks dapper on the tennis court, but he is incomplete without the ‘RF’ logo etched on his outfits. His previous sponsorers, Nike, presently owns the rights for the ‘RF’ logo, which was initially designed by Federer’s wife, Mirka. However, the Uniqlo team has no interests in using the ‘RF’ crest on their apparels.
World Number three, Roger Federer continued to reflect on the clothing history associated with the most stylish sport. Over the years, tennis attires have been redesigned to a great extent and by day by, the clothes are getting more sophisticated.
Nowadays, apparel manufacturers also get in touch with athletes and then they design the clothes for them. For instance, high profile athletes like Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova sometimes design their outfits themselves.

“It’s similar to golf actually. Tennis has a rich history and heritage of clothes. Back in the day, it was maybe much more formal and then it had to be worn for a lot of sweat and tear. I feel like nowadays it’s nice to go back in time and even think about how tennis really was. It’s a crossover. It’s so close, the streetwear which is so important,” he mentioned.
