Roger Federer
The Roger Federer once again misses the opportunity to clinch his sixth BNP Paribas crown. In the year 2018, it was an exhilarating final against the Argentine, Juan Martin del Potro where Roger Federer held match points in the title match and suffered a 4–6, 7–6(10), 6–7(2) loss to Del Potro. He was also defeated in 2014 and 2015 by the Serbian, Novak Djokovic in the nervy championship clash in the desert.
Roger Federer addressed the instances from his 2018 finals in California. “Last years final was much more dramatic, Del Potro and I argued with the umpire, the crowd was much more pumped up,” Roger Federer said. “Whereas this time I can digest it a bit easier, it was over quite quickly, I already felt a bit relaxed on the podium, not interested in negative vibes.”
He continued to speak about his bodily conditions during a match. “Well, a lot of people think I never felt pain during my matches, well that’s not true, Rafa and I are probably the ones who played with the most pain, in my roughly 1400 matches I played often with pain, but when you feel it’s too dangerous for your body you need to pass”.

Dominic Thiem and Roger Federer
At the Indian Wells 2019, the Austrian, Dominic Thiem maintained the trill of the match until the match was concluded and the scoreboard couldn’t reveal champion till the end. The double break of serve in the second set uplifted Thiem’s resilience in the title match and the break towards the end of the match turned out to be the pivotal point in the battle.

Roger Federer at Indian Wells 2019
The lethal forehands from Thiem’s end hampered the Swiss ace, Roger Federer to outplay the World Number four tennis player. This year, World Number five, Roger Federer has dropped just two matches out the fourteen he played.
He is excited to perform in the second American Sunshine event in Florida which is the Miami Open. “I’m happy for Dominic, winning his first Masters 1000, as well. It’s a massive event to win,” Federer said. “There is more to look forward to in Miami. The body is perfectly fine.”
