It is very amusing to most people when celebrities from outside the gaming community speak about games. Many actors, footballers, and other legends of their own craft have spoken about video games.

Most recently, Hollywood legend, John Carpenter made a statement on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Ubisoft’s latest title in the fan favorite series came out earlier this month and has earned a lot of plaudits from players.

John Carpenter is famous for his horror movies like Halloween and The Thing. He has also directed classics like Escape From New York and They Live.

The Master of Horror is also a well-known musician and has composed music for several of his own works. He is a winner of the Bram Stoker Award for Lifetime Achievement, and in 2019 he was awarded the Golden Coach award in Cannes Film Festival.

John Carpenter tweeted about how much he is enjoying the open world RPG, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. He says the title is a “return to excellence in the franchise.”

This might be a dig at Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, one of the previous titles that fans of the franchise criticized heavily despite a faction of gamers offering positive reviews about the title.

This is not the first time John Carpenter has expressed his love for video games. Way back in 2010, Warner Bros included him on the board of FEAR 3.

He had even expressed a desire to turn EA Games Dead Space franchise into a film. Furthermore, in 2017, he told The Guardian he was playing Destiny 2. “I’ve been playing the video game Destiny 2. It’s a sci-fi game. It’s fun.”
