It’s been a while since Respawn Entertainment launched Season 7 of Apex Legends. ‘Ascencion‘ was Apex’s biggest season update yet as it introduced a brand new map, a legend, and the BR’s first vehicle. Besides the exciting additions, the developers also incorporated many balance changes.

Season 7 is in full swing now, with Holo-Day Bash’s festivities going live earlier this month to bring an eventful year in Apex Legends to an end. As the developers gear up to introduce more seasonal content in the future, they talked briefly about what it means for the game.

IGN shared an exclusive behind-the-scenes interview with Respawn devs about what it was like working from home to bring Season 7 to life. Apex’s game director Chad Grenier shared some interesting details regarding their plans for upcoming seasons in the video.

Apex Legends has some major things in line for Season 9 that you did not expect

Although the game director didn’t give too much away, his excitement was apparent when talking about future seasons.

Chad Grenier said, “Season 8 is shaping up to be amazing. It’s just great and almost entirely done working from home. Season 9, not gonna lie, is also going to be great. In Season 9, you’re gonna see some major things that you did not expect.

The dev also mentioned that the team hit their stride despite the challenges imposed by the pandemic situation. They are committed to working together to bring their amazing ideas to life and keep building great content.

Season 8 & 9, even stuff we’re working on for season 10 & 11, we’re doing our best work. Our best work is yet to be released, so I’m just really excited.

As most players might know, Respawn had opened up about the possibility of Apex becoming more than just a battle royale game. The developers are working on some major things for upcoming seasons, but they can’t offer much intel until an official announcement.

For now, we have to wait and see for any more glimpses of the seasonal content from future updates. Meanwhile, Apex’s audio director Erik Kraber and principal animator Moy Parra also shared their teams’ struggles and innovations when they were working from home.
