Uncertainties around the US Open will settle as the players have now been informed of the confirmed dates of the US Open. The US Open will go ahead as scheduled. Beginning on the 31st of August for the Singles and 2nd of September for the doubles.
Major doubts surfaced after the Citi Open in Washington was canceled. It was supposed to be the season reopener for the ATP but instead, it will be the Cincinnati Masters.

The US Open is also being held at a time when the pandemic is prevalent in the US. There are thousands of new cases daily and so many players deemed it risky to travel to the US. So there were dark clouds over the Grand Slam.
But it seems that the US Open is confident with its safety measures and it can assure players of their safety. There will be regular temperature and symptoms checks and players will be kept in a bubble. But this year there won’t be any fans at the flushing meadows to prevent the spread of the virus.
US Open Singles main draw begins on 31st August and the Doubles main draw begins on 2nd September
From earlier this month the CEO of USTA, Mike Dowse has been quite confident of holding the tournament despite nearby hiccups. He is happy with the health protocols and said they worked closely with the authorities.
“Those three principles are: can we pull it off in a healthy, safe way for everyone? Is it good for tennis?. And three does it financially make sense. And as of today all three of those are still true. We have the green light on all three. We’ve worked closely with the city of New York, the state of New York to make sure our health protocols are proper.” Mike dowse said

The French Open will follow the US Open in two weeks. French Open has not raised any concerns and the organizers are trying to make it as normal as possible. There will be around 40-50 percent of spectators allowed. It is scheduled to start on September 27th.

So this almost confirms the US Open. Fans can finally get the taste of Grand Slam tennis after tennis went into hiatus due to the pandemic in March.
