Sony has recently announced the next State of Play event, and it’ll take place on 27th October (Wednesday). The show will include a fresh look at upcoming titles and some exciting new reveals, and it will be around 20 minutes long. According to several reports, the PlayStation State of Play will be all about third-party games.
Sony’s last State of Play was more focused on first-party games and now it’s time to focus on titles from its partners to maintain that balance. Well, this time it looks like Sony Interactive Entertainment is taking a backseat and making third-party titles the primary focus of the event. However, the big news here is that the much-awaited Final Fantasy 16 could be a part of the PlayStation State of Play this time.

Final Fantasy 16 will be a part of PlayStation’s next State of Play Event?
The official blog published by PlayStation obviously doesn’t share any specific details about it, but if it is all about third-party games this time, then Final Fantasy 16 could be on the priority list; way back in June 2021, a PlayStation leaker revealed that Final Fantasy would be a part of the event.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen back then. But is quite possible that the plan changed last moment and Sony decided to focus on first-party games only. Maybe the update was just pushed back a bit and now it will be a part of this PlayStation State of Play. However, nothing has been officially announced yet at this point, so take everything as not one hundred percent accurate.
The previous State of Play event offered the exciting release date for Death Stranding: Director’s Cut and the trailer of God of War Ragnarok. There were announcements regarding two Marvel games, Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic, and more.
