Since Niko left FaZe for G2, rumors of a new fifth member have cropped up. According to the rumors that have surfaced recently, it seems like the viable fifth member is Karrigan, who is no stranger to the FaZe Counter-Strike: Global Offensive household. In fact, if this deal works out, it will be a homecoming for the CS pro.

Brazilian news portal The Clutch reported on this rumored deal. From the looks of it, current FaZe pro, Marcelo “coldzera” David, wants Karrigan on the team. There are reports that coldzera has spoken directly with the board on this issue. His requests for Karrigan to be brought on started shortly after Niko had left the roster.

Karrigan is currently the in-game leader for Mousesports. He has been under contract with the organization since 2019. That contract ends on March 2021, and sources claim Mouse has already sent him a request to renew the contract.

Many believe that this is unlikely to happen now that FaZe is showing interest in their former pro. This might end up working badly for Mousesports if the move happens after March because then they would have to let him go for free.

From all perspectives, Karrigan’s return seems very plausible. The pro himself will probably be glad to return to the organization where he won seven trophies previously. The Danish national joined FaZe in 2016 after Astralis had benched him. Furthermore, his run at Mouse is not going great under the current circumstances.

Initially, the roster was performing great under his leadership. They even rose to second place in the world rankings after ESL Pro League Season 10 and EPICENTER 2019. However, the pandemic forced the tournaments to be shifted to an online format and Mouse gradually started faltering, exiting early at multiple tournaments. Therefore, it seems viable that Karrigan would want to start fresh at FaZe.
