Recent reports from insiders suggested that Sony planned to tone down their usual launch protocols. The console giants will produce significantly fewer units of their next-gen consoles because the production cost is quite high. If the reports are true, you can expect the PS5 to launch at around $500-650, unless Sony decide to settle for an initial loss.
While that is not good news, fans are delighted that the release date of the console was not pushed back. As the COVID-19 situation worsened, fans feared Sony would push back the launch for PS5.
