Nico Hulkenberg will step away from Formula One after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He leaves the Renault team after three years of association with the French outfit.
Since joining the team, he has been a vital cog, even helping them finish as Best of the Rest. So, to pay tribute to the German driver, the Renault F1 team released a video on Twitter, highlighting his best moments.
From every single one of us who had a blast working with you over the past three years: you motivated us, brought us together and made us laugh every single step of the way. We’re going to miss you Hulki.

Some of the footage featured his time alongside Daniel Ricciardo and even Carlos Sainz. With his help, Renault snatched sixth place in the constructors’ championship during his maiden season.
Then, in 2019, Nico Hulkenberg helped improve their position to fourth in the championship. Despite solid performances when pitted against Daniel Ricciardo in 2019, Renault has opted to sign Esteban Ocon for next season.
“It is clear that Nico has been instrumental in our progress through F1,” said Renault F1 boss Cyril Abiteboul to the media.

“We wish him every luck for the future and sincerely thank him for his huge contribution to Renault F1 Team over the past three years.”
