When CD Projekt RED delayed Cyberpunk 2077, the biggest regret fans had was taking time off from work prematurely to play the game. However, no one thought that there might be someone who would never get a chance to play the game due to the delay.
A day ago, Reddit user u/Mixitman posted a photo of his son on the Cyberpunk subreddit. He captioned the post,
“My Johnny will not be playing Cyberpunk 2077. We will have to do it for him. He would have gone as a caring Street kid just trying to make a better world. Here’s my fantastic son and girlfriend. He had just asked her dad permission to get married earlier this week. RIP Johnny.”

The post caught the attention of a lot of fans who felt sorry about this incident. However, they felt that CDPR in some way or the other might immortalize Johnny in the game as a tribute to him. On their part, fans have already started paying their tributes.
Cyberpunk 2077 fans vow to follow the life path of a street kid to honor Johnny’s memory; make an in-game poster
To immortalize Johnny’s son, another Reddit user u/Cotillion0899 sketched him as an in-game character. He posted the image on the subreddit, to which a lot of people replied.
Johnny’s father replied to the post saying, “Just showed this to my wife and we had a great cry and laugh and smile. Seriously thank you. I’ve sent you my email address. I’ll be printing this out, multiple copies for us, his little sister and girlfriend.”
Reading his wholesome response, a lot of redditors replied, expressing their hopes that the developers will bring him in as an NPC in Cyberpunk 2077.
Another user, Kinslayer6989 said, “I was undecided what path I was going to choose but will defo go street kid and make a character in his likeness. I am so sorry for your loss.”
Another person followed in his footsteps and made a similar comment.

While it started off as a sad moment, it turned out to be one of the most wholesome incidents in the gaming community recently. There have been incidents of games such as World of Warcraft and Rainbow Six Siege honoring their fans. Hopefully, CDPR will follow a similar path in this case.
