Ferrari and Red Bull are two of the strongest teams in the top echelons of Motor-Racing. Apart from Mercedes, clearly the frontrunners in the past half a decade in the sport, the familiar story in F1 concerns Ferrari and Red Bull.

To that end, the struggles of the other racing outfits, most noticeably, Renault, McLaren, Racing Point are pretty understandable.

So what exactly are these struggles about?

The non- ‘B’ teams such as Racing Point and McLaren are currently struggling to consider as to how can they respond to the alliances that top racing marquees such as Ferrari and Red Bull are benefitting from?

Ferrari, on their own, are the strongest team where driver pairing and car-development (and engineering package, aero-design) are concerned, apart from Mercedes. On top of that, their customers, Alfa Romeo and Haas, are also benefitting thanks to Ferrari being their engine suppliers.

Now, this is exactly the one area where teams like Racing Point are currently struggling, according to latest reports emanating from the pit garages. To elaborate more on this development, Andy Green, who happens to be the technical boss at Mercedes-powered Racing Point feels that the technical alliances formed by the likes of Ferrari are, therefore, coming to the aid of sides like Alfa Romeo, Haas, and Scuderia Toro Rosso.

This, according to Green, could be the reason why the above-mentioned sides are gaining and are, therefore, competitive.

Not exactly elated with this arrangement, Mr. Green was quoted as saying, “Sauber and Haas benefit from Ferrari. Same as Toro Rosso and Red Bull.” The feeling is that that Ferrari happen to be the suppliers for sides like Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi-powered Alfa Romeo makes the Hinwill-based squad gain a competitive edge over other ‘weaker’ sides (in that regard) such as Racing Point as it helps them automatically inch closer to the top of the field.

To win in Formula 1 requires more than just speed or great determination. Right? It’s how the car shapes up and how the overall synergies happen to determine fortunes for the sides.

For now, it does seem that the ball is in Ferrari and Red Bull’s court. It’s important to see how the ‘weaker’ sides minus the massive alliances of the kinds that Alfa Romeo (supplied by Ferrari) can bring in the contests ahead? Racing Point- you have a point to prove here, right!
