A Good Recovery for Pierre Gasly After His Demotion

Last year, Pierre was demoted midseason after just 12 races by the Red Bull F1 team because of poor performance. Moreover, his best performance at the team was a $th place which came in the Britain GP. He was replaced by the team’s junior driver Alex Albon. Pierre joined Toro Rosso in place of Albon and partnered with Daniil Kvyat for the remaining season. Coincidently, Red Bull demoted Kvyat in a similar fashion back in 2016. Kvyat was replaced by Max Verstappen after his one too many on-track mishaps.

Pierre had a good recovery from his bad form at Toro Rosso and even scored a podium finish with the team in Brazil. He finished the race at 2nd and shared the podium with ex-teammate Max who won the race.

He was heavily praised for his performance after such a disappointing start. And finished the driver championship at number 7 ahead of his Toro Rosso teammate Kvyat and Red Bull replacement Albon.
