It is often said that records are meant to be broken which proves right by every word. EssentiallySports brings you the records that were broken in 2015 season.
8. Number of wins
Sebastian Vettel parted ways with Red Bull after not finishing in the top 5 in 2014. His move to Scuderia Ferrari worked wonders for him as he constantly challenged the Mercedes pair for the podium finishes, thereby, raking up 3 wins and finishing 14 times on the podium.

Meanwhile Lewis Hamilton picked up from where he left off in 2014, defending his World Championship title, winning 11 times and finishing a record 17 times on the podium.
With an impressive 2015 , both the drivers managed to emulate Ayrton Senna’s record of 41 wins, thereby, becoming the 4 and 3 placed drivers in terms of number of wins respectively, behind Michael Schumacher and Alain Prost.
7. An unwanted record
Nico Rosberg broke an unwanted record, previously held by Felipe Massa, the record of having most career points without a World Championship Title. Ironically the man responsible for both the German and the Brazilian is Lewis Hamilton. While Hamilton clinched his first title in 2008 right under the nose of Massa in the action packed and dramatic Brazilian Grand Prix, it hasn’t been the same case with Rosberg as the Brit has been very consistent in 2014 and 2015 , giving very little opportunity to Rosberg.
6. YOUNGEST DRIVER
Max Verstappen holds the record of the youngest driver at 17 years and 180 days. Toro Rosso appointed the 17 year old as their driver for the 2015 season, making the Dutch driver the youngest ever in F1. Just three months after appointing him as their driver, the FIA decided to introduce the minimum age limit of 18 in Formula One. So technically , this record can never be broken now.
He also became the youngest driver to score points in Formula One History when he came 6 in Malaysian Grand in his Toro Rosso.
5. Most Career Points without a win
Valtteri Bottas continued his impressive run from the 2014 season, constantly finishing in the top 5 in 2015 for Williams, but unable to manage a victory in a 2015 Grand Prix, thereby, recording the maximum number of career Championship points without a win. The Finn is closely followed in 2 position by Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg. Both the drivers would be hoping to get rid of this record in the 2016 season with some more strong performances.
4. Amazing feat
Hamilton took his tenth win of the season in the United States, and thus, his victory wrapped up this year’s Drivers’ Championship. As a result, Hamilton became and also equal his childhood idol, Ayrton Senna’s record of three world titles. He also became the second Brit to win three World Championship titles after Sir Jackie Stewart.
3. Record number of points
Mercedes AMG Petronas scored the maximum points ever in a calendar season (703) by a Formula One team to win the Constructors Title 2015 at the Russian Grand Prix. Such was their dominance that the second placed team ( Ferrari) lost by a whopping 275 points margin at the end of 2015 season.
2. The Russian Magic
Following a good 2014 season with Toro Rosso, Daniil Kvyat replaced Sebastian Vettel at Red Bull Racing in 2015. With a decent Renault powered engine, he managed to finish 2 in an event packed Hungarian Grand Prix, thereby, becoming the 2 youngest driver to be on the podium.
