Virat Kohli is in a bit of a fix. Well, at least, that is what it seems as of now. A few minutes back, his RCB happened to have lost a game to the Rajasthan Royals. To most, this may have been the outcome as per predictions. To others, this wasn’t too good. But truth be told, and think of the brilliant army of fans that one might say the RCB unit are still fortunate to be having- this was, yet another day in the life of the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

From being 3 down in as many games, it doesn’t look too bright that the side have lost now their fourth game.

Well, in a template of the sport that is so implicitly defined by unpredictability, can someone kindly acknowledge RCB for having changed the very context; given how predictable they’ve been thus far?

But truth be told and on a serious note (one reckons, even their most loyal fans, sarcasm may be easier to swallow than the sides’ lack of form) it appears that there seems to be a clear lack in intention from RCB. And if not then, it definitely seems that the side are missing out on a few pointers.

That said, what is it that the RCB unit would be well advised to have, given that Rajasthan did end up playing their bit in toying with the bowlers, taking the game to the penultimate delivery of the run-chase?

Here’s what you ought to know:

The absence of a death bowler

Bumrah is there for Mumbai and Rabada is there for Delhi. Who does Kohli have? Are Umesh or Saini the answer? Moreover, can Siraj, having not been in the best of forms as seen of late- bail Kohli’s unit out of trouble the way a handy exponent of death bowling can?

Having made an impressive fifty the other day against Mumbai, it doesn’t help that AB hasn’t been able to exhibit his 360 range in the games that followed.

With scores of 13 and 1 in the games that followed after, is AB in the kind of form he’s expected to carry?

For the RCB to win, it seems, he might have to up his game considering those usual lofty standards and go the distance even against the best bowlers. Remember AB nearly marauding Malinga with those two grizzly sixes in Mumbai’s thrilling win a few days ago?

In the game against the Royals at Jaipur, the Protean failed to fire. Failures like these at such crucial stage of the competition- lest it is forgotten that the RCB are yet to open their account- hurt Kohli big.

No show from Hetmyer

Every unit has at least or two flamboyant batsmen (in the IPL 2019) that can literally go bonkers. So, can you say that RCB have that?

Well, yes. Not one but two. After all, there’s ‘Hetty’ from the West Indies.

For someone who was brought for an astronomical price, it doesn’t seem that Hetmyer has found himself in the IPL the way he would’ve quite liked.

Having made 1, 9, 5 and 0 isn’t really taking him or his RCB anywhere.

The above told, what clearly seems to be worrisome for a team that has it all- the right combination on the paper (at least), the presence of grit, the elevation that one instantly experiences having an AB in the side and someone of the class of Kohli is that the pressure, at the end of the day, keeps coming onto the right-hander from India. In that regard, RCB are going nowhere. While Kohli’s the finest in their side, someone who scored nearly 1000 runs in 2016 alone, how far can he tow his team alone?

Are the others- Hetmyer, AB, Stoinis, Parthiv listening?
