2007 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen sent shockwaves in the F1 world when he confirmed a move to Sauber. As a result of the announcement, it has opened the door for a move to Ferrari for Charles LeClerc. The Monaco native wasted no time in barging through that door. However, many experts and pundits were flummoxed by Raikkonen’s shock decision. But the taciturn Finn had lined up one of his trademark responses.

Why do you want to go back there?
"Because I want to. Why do you make it more complicated than it is?"— Andrew Benson (@andrewbensonf1) September 13, 2018
Anyone who has been following Formula One for a while, will know that Raikkonen never minces his words. He is the kind of person who will lay it on anyone straight, without beating around the bush. Raikkonen made it clear that it was his decision to join Sauber on a 2-year deal. The veteran Finn will be trading places with Academy driver and current Sauber driver, Charles LeClerc.
This also means that fans will get to see the 38-year old race for another 2 years. When rumours began to spread that Kimi could be leaving F1, fans even petitioned him to stay.
