Rafael Nadal’s love for Mallorca
Mallorca is part of the Balearic Islands off the coast of Spain. Rafa’s coach and former World No. 1 Carlos Moya is also from the Balearic Islands. A few months back, Nadal wrote the foreword for a book that highlighted the sporting heroes from the Balearic Islands.
“The book in your hands was born with a vocation to endure. To endure in time, to endure in memory, to endure as a testimony of efforts and sacrifices until the Balearic Islands, also in sport, are seen as the land of champions,” Nadal wrote.
The book is called ‘Baleares Tierra de Campeones’ which translates to ‘Balearic Islands, Land of Champions’. With Nadal being the most successful sports person from the Balearic Islands, the writers of the book have dedicated two pages to the 20-time Grand Slam champion.
