Rafael Nadal has a great relationship with records, especially at his beloved French Open. Currently, Rafael Nadal reached another Roland Garros quarterfinal after a dominant victory against qualifier Sebastian Korda.
Nadal reached his 14th French Open quarterfinal moving ahead of Novak Djokovic’s 13. Before the French Open 2020, both Nadal and Djokovic were tied at 13, which was the record for most quarterfinal appearances at Roland Garros. Now Nadal takes the record for himself although Djokovic does have a chance to equal it tomorrow.

Rafa while reaching his 14th Roland Garros quarterfinal also jumped past Jimmy Connors in the list of most Grand Slam quarterfinal appearances. Nadal is now third on the list with 42 quarterfinal appearances.
When speaking of tennis records, the three players that come into anyone’s mind are Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal. Most of the records are headed by these three. And now as Nadal jumped Connors in the Grand Slam quarterfinals list, all the major Grand Slam records are headed by tennis’ most decorated trio.
The six major Grand Slam records are – most titles, most finals, most semifinals, most quarterfinals, most matches played and most matches won. For now, Federer heads all these records. The Swiss Master has 20 Grand Slam titles in 31 finals. He has reached the semifinals 46 times and the quarterfinals 57 times. He has played 421 matches out of which he has won 362.
Rafael Nadal’s Grand Slam records
Nadal is second in the Grand Slam count and the Grand Slam finals appearances. And he is 3rd in the other records behind Djokovic. Rafa is just one behind Federer in the Grand Slam tally with 19 having played 27 finals. The Spaniard has 33 Grand Slam semifinals appearances and as mentioned before 42 quarterfinal appearances. Nadal has played 318 matches winning 279 of them. With Federer reaching the end of his career, Nadal and Djokovic will attempt to pass as many records as possible.

Novak Djokovic’s Grand Slam records
Novak Djokovic isn’t too far behind Federer and Nadal. He has 17 Grand Slam from 26 finals. 37 semifinal appearances and 46 quarterfinal appearances. He has played 337 Grand slam matches winning 293 matches. A few more years and Djokovic looks the prime suspect to surpass Federer in these records.
One place where Rafa ranks supreme and is well clear of others is in the French Open. His 12 titles, win record and win percentage are beyond compare. And now he looks to extend these record at French Open 2020 and clinch a few others as well.
