The Polish player, Agnieszka Radwanska concluded her tennis season at the Korea Open in Seoul in September this year. She called off her season due to the foot injury from which she was suffering. Moreover, her early winding up indicated her retirement from WTA tennis is around the corner.
“It’s an inoperative case, any surgery will not help,” said Radwanska. “Whether I have high heels or shoes to play, it hurts the same. Simply put, my left foot is so crushed from running that it does not work much longer. Everything swells, immediately there is inflammation. I can even wake up with cramps in the middle of the night. No injections help – neither cortisol nor plasma”.
The 2012 Wimbledon finalist, Radwanska, is trying her best to resurge on the circuit. Also, this November she is deciding on her future plans regarding tennis. “Plans for the future are certainly a lot of rehabilitation, health care and trying to reach a hundred per cent form. The next few weeks will show if I will be able to return to the court immediately and whether I will be able to come back at all. I have not yet notified to any tournament (about 2019). If I was to start, I do not know when. For now, I am between a rock and a hard place,” said Radwanska.
The former World Number two, Radwanska’s coach, Tomasz Wiktorowski spoke about her tennis schedule in the near future. He informed about her plaguing injuries and it is tough to handle such issues in a tennis players’ life. Her coach did not disclose about Radwanska’s comeback on the WTA circuit. He said, “I will not say now that she will continue her career from the beginning of the season, or from Wimbledon because there are many possibilities’.
