Those about to order the PS5 on launch day might have to prepare themselves for an incoming wave of chaos, as Sony announced earlier today that the launch day sales will be entirely online.
The official announcement from Sony reads, “The launch of the PlayStation 5 console on November 12 (or November 19, depending on your region) is almost upon us! In the interest of keeping our gamers, retailers, and staff safe amidst COVID-19, today we are confirming that all day-of launch sales will be conducted through the online stores of our retail partners.”

The community has not yet forgotten the huge massacre on the day the console went up for pre-orders online. Numerous people, who expected to land a successful pre-order for the upcoming console, had to return disappointed and empty-handed, as the stocks cleared out in a matter of minutes from the official online pre-order portal.
Furthermore, stocks at the retail stores soon followed suit. Now, the question stands, will Sony be able to prevent the repetition of the incident this time around?

PS5 launch sales will be entirely online
Just to clear things up, the ones who have pre-ordered the console from retail outlets will be available to grab their PS5 on the designated date still. However, Sony has clarified that the console will not be available for in-store purchases on the launch day.

“No units will be available in-store for purchase on launch day (November 12 or November 19, depending on your region) – please don’t plan on camping out or lining up at your local retailer on launch day in hopes of finding a PS5 console for purchase. Be safe, stay home, and place your order online.”
The awaited launch date of the upcoming console from the house of Sony is drawing near, and so is the anxiety of being able to manage to order the console. PS5 will launch on November 12. The standard edition will be available for $499, and the digital edition will be available for $399.
