In a world without the COVID-19 pandemic, us gamers would be gearing up for an avalanche of reveals and announcements. More so than most years given it is a next-gen console year. Unfortunately, but rightfully, the biggest reveal showcases like E3, Gamescom, and others have been canceled. However, with PS5 and Xbox Series X still on course for launch in the latter half of the year, announcements are starting trickle. Studios are just coming up with their own methods of making these announcements. In fact, we are getting something of an elaborate spectacle when it comes to one such game.

PS5 and Xbox title to give news via video series

Outriders is confirmed for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Windows PC, and is scheduled to release in December 2020. The game, developed by People Can Fly and published by Square Enix, is a third-person action RPG set on a planet called Enoch.

Thew game looks enticing, sure, but so do many others in their reveal trailers. However, the fact that Square Enix is behind the title bodes well, at least in my opinion.

The creative director at People Can Fly, Bartek Kmita, opened up on trying out different avenues for making announcements since most conventions are canceled.

“With the cancellation of some of gaming’s biggest events of the year, we’ve looked for new ways to share news about Outriders with players.”

The developers have announced that we will get news, updates, and an in-depth look at the game soon. This will start with a monthly video series called Outriders Broadcast. The first episode is titled Built for the Core. It will take a look at the gameplay, characters, abilities, and RPG elements featuring in the game. It will air on May 28, on YouTube.

Take a look at the teaser for the upcoming video series.
