NEW YORK (Reuters) – The president of a prominent Honduras soccer club has been arrested in the United States in connection with money laundering charges, according to U.S. authorities and an indictment made public on Wednesday.

Yankel Rosenthal, president of Club Deportivo Marathón, was expected to appear on Wednesday afternoon in Miami federal court. It is unclear whether he has hired a lawyer. Honduras’ presidency confirmed his arrest in a statement on Tuesday.

Also charged in the indictment are Jaime Rosenthal, Yani Rosenthal and Andres Acosta Garcia.
