Credits; Sky SportsEverton have always had a rich history with their academy. It is an asset to their club that they have proudly showcased. Over the years, they have had an excellent record of promoting their own players into the first team. They have seen many notable names who have made their entry into Senior football through Everton.?Most notably, England and Manchester United Captain and all-time top scorer Wayne Rooney. It comes as no surprise that the latest premier league teen sensation Tom Davies is an Evertonian too.
A teenage sensation from Everton has taken the league by storm this season, Tom Davies. The 18-year-old?Evertonian has made a remarkable impact on the league and has deservedly caught the attention of fans and pundits.
Davies is an Everton academy graduate having joined the club at the age of?11. He got his first taste of senior football under Roberto Martinez ?in a 1?1 draw with Southampton ? at ?Goodison Park coming on as an 83rd-minute substitute on 6 April 2016. He also made his first start the same season a month later in the final of the match of the season vs Norwich under interim manager David Unsworth.
Under Ronald Koeman, being a regular feature from the bench and in cup games, it is since ?the calendar turned to ?2017 where his fortunes have massively sparkled. Having started all the three league games so far, ?he has thoroughly impressed everyone in attendance with bright performances and at least an assist?in each of the game. The biggest hallmark, ?a man of the match performance against Manchester City in a memorable 4-0 win which he crowned with a beautiful chip goal.
On First impression, ?Tom Davies has shown tremendous qualities that suggest he has the potential to be a great player. The?5?ft 11 inches midfielder is very comfortable on the ball being able to brilliantly pull strings from midfield and link up with his teammates and ?also having an excellent work rate giving his team the extra boost of energy that has been vital in Everton’s recent resurgence.
As Everton and England doubt how good Ross Barkley can be, Tom Davies provides them with them an alternate addition to invest their future on. This is an exciting period for both the club and country as Davies has already displayed that he is one that could take the world by storm in the future. If he keeps his feet grounded and is given the right settings to develop in, there is no reason why Tom Davies could be a name that top clubs will throw crazy money at soon and one that England football will cherish.
