Gary Monk’s 22 month tenure as the Swansea City manager has, perhaps unsurprisingly, come to an end . Just one victory in over 11 games saw the Welsh club come precariously close to the relegation zone, with only a single point acting as the cushion . Although last season Swansea were flying high, ending their season with a record 8th position finish , it wasn’t enough for Garry to keep his job .
With Alan Curtis serving as the interim manager, the club is still unstable. Meanwhile rumours and speculation abound as to who could end up with the Swansea job. So, here we point out a few names, who might just make the cut. 1. Brendan Rodgers

The Northern Irishman might give the Swansea job another shot . His first tenure was a rather successful one, both for the club as well as for Brendan himself , taking the Swans to the Championship trophy and Premier League status. And after being sacked by Liverpool earlier this season , he might look to redeem his name on familiar grounds.
With his possession and pressing style of football , Rodgers almost took Liverpool to the premier league title, losing out by a single point to Manchester City . He might just be the answer to Swansea’s woes .
2. David Moyes
Recently sacked by Real Sociedad after a poor start to the season , Moyes might look to return to the EPL with Swansea . Although he has had two poor showings, at Real Sociedad and Manchester United , what will catch the eye of Swansea management would be the excellent job he did with the Toffees .
From lifting Everton up from the relegation spot to a comfortable mid table position in his first season, to maintaining a top half finish in the next few seasons, Moyes clearly stabilised the Toffees and established a strong youth academy . Given a chance , Moyes might just be the right man for the Liberty Stadium hotseat .
3. Ryan Giggs
The Manchester United legend and current assistant manager has been tipped to be the next manager of Swansea City . Although he has been backed by Louis Van Gaal as his successor , the Premier League status of Swansea city might just tempt Giggs to lead the Swans . His vast experience in the EPL (he played 624 games ) and his current education under Louis Van Gaal will help his case to take the reins at the Liberty stadium .
Giggs during his brief tenure as interim manager-player of Manchester United helped them win 2 and draw 1 match of their last 4 . He showed great character and gave a chance to debutants James Wilson and Tom Lawrence in a 3-1 victory over Hull City . And the announcement of Neville as the new manager of Valencia might just be enough inspiration for Giggs to leave his beloved home , Old Trafford .
4. Michael Laudrup
Michael Laudrup had a great start to life at the Liberty stadium . He brought in great players including Michu and De Guzmann . He helped Swansea beat the then European champions Chelsea 2-0 in the League Cup semi finals which they finally ended up winning, bringing in Swansea’s first ever major silverware .

But at the end of 2013 season Swansea suffered a disastrous decline in form, losing 6 out of their last 8 games which lead to his eventual sacking . Will he go back to Swansea after such a bitter end to his tenure , is a question which only time will answer .
5. Gus Poyet
Gus Poyet’s sacking at Sunderland was not a shocking one . It came after a string of below par performances . He had fared reasonably well at Sunderland last season, helping them survive relegation . He often had answers to big clubs like Manchester United , Manchester City and Chelsea, which is a quality which might interest Swansea .

Although he has signed a contract with Aen Athens that runs till the summer of 2016 , his buy-out clause might not be an issue for Swansea .
