Days Gone will run 4K/60FPS on PS5

Just like most of the tiles on the PS5, Days Gone will also run on 4K resolution on the PS5. An option to run the game in 4K was also available on the PS4 Pro. However, it was locked at 30FPS and used a checkerboard rendering solution to resolve a 4K image.

With the capabilities of the next-gen PlayStation, the game will now run smoothly and efficiently on 60FPS even on 4K. Moreover, the studio will also allow players to transfer their saves from the PS4 to the PS5. Hence, players will not have to start the game all over again. They will no longer have to worry about losing their progress if they plan to switch to the next-gen console.

This also comes as good news for PlayStation fans. Since the race for next-gen consoles started, fans started to allege that Sony is only working on getting exclusives however, Microsoft is making sure they upgrade their previous titles.

Since we now see even more PS5 games featuring 4K/120FPS, the edge that Xbox had over the PS5 is diminishing. Sony is trying to catch up with Xbox in the number of titles that run on 120FPS. Therefore, with just a few days left to the launch of next-gen consoles, it might just come down to personal preferences and not actual differences between the two platforms.
