Activision took the internet by storm on the 30th of September as they released the first look of Black Ops Cold War Zombies. It had a lot in store for the fans with a variety of new content. Additionally, other than the storyline and characters, the developers have also incorporated new features such as crossplay. Fans had a field day reacting and absorbing it all as they await the upcoming title.

Treyarch evidently wished to keep some elements from previous installments. They wanted players to have a sense of comfort and reliability while playing the next-gen Zombies mode. Therefore, the popular Samantha Maxis will return to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies as a supporting character in the Dark Aether story. While there has been no official announcement from either Treyarch or Activision, they did drop an Easter Egg in the first look trailer for fans to figure out.

For the uninitiated, Samantha Maxis is a prominent antagonist from the Zombies storyline. She has featured in almost every Zombies gameplay released by Activision until now. She is the daughter of Ludvig Maxis, whose body was possessed by Edward Richtofen. He replaced her as the Demonic Announcer via his ultimate plan.

Easter Egg confirms Samantha Maxis’ appearance in Black Ops Cold War Zombies

The information comes from the first sequence of the reveal, in which a woman goes up to a payphone and dials a number. Fans noticed that the numbers she enters on the phone were 6-2-9-4-7. These numbers spell contain among other letters, the letters M-A-X-I-S on an alpha-numeric keypad.

It is definitely not a coincidence that Treyarch chose these numbers. They wanted fans to pick up on this and build up hype around what is probably the largest Zombies production in Call of Duty history. The clip is from a live stream on NoahJ456’s YouTube channel. He did a detailed analysis, reaction, and breakdown of the first look reveal.

Cold War Zombies will be released on November 13. However, players can get early access to the open beta in the second week of October.
