Eugenie Bouchard was once the face of Canadian tennis. She peeked in 2014 season where she reached the finals of Wimbledon and had semi-final appearances at the Australian Open and the French Open. She reached a career-high ranking of five. From then on the Canadian has seen a sharp decline in form and she is currently ranked World No.332.

Bouchard has been active on social media. Over the years she has constantly interacted with fans. Yesterday the former World No.5 showed her good heart and offered to help a fan in need.
One fan had tweeted about a Bouchard signed Genie Army merchandise which he won in a contest organized by Diet Coke. This pandemic might have caused some people financial trouble. So this fan wanted to sell the prize to raise money to buy his hearing aids.
Bouchard replied to his tweet asking him not to sell the merchandise. She offered to buy the hearing aids for him by herself.
“I’ll get your hearing aids. Please don’t sell this” Bouchard tweeted to the fan.

Coming back to her career she has not been prominent on the tour for five years now. After suffering a concussion injury in the 2015 US Open it took her a while to regain her past prowess. But since then she has had troubles influencing the big tournaments, as she did in 2014.

In 2020 Bouchard failed to qualify for the Australian Open and she crashed out in the final qualifying round. Recently the Canadian participated in the Credit One Bank invitation tournament in Charleston. It’s an exhibition tournament featuring current Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin, Victoria Azarenka, etc.
The exhibition tournament happened without fans. The US Open will also happen without crowds to minimize the risk of spreading the coronavirus. Even though the US Open is taking strict measures to limit scare of the virus, many players are still hesitant to travel to the United States.
