Many studios released their games along with the launch of the new consoles by Microsoft and Sony. Therefore, there are few to none launching in the first month of a fresh year. To keep fans busy during January 2021, just like every other month, PlayStation will make a few games free for PS Plus users.

As of yet, there is no official communication from Sony as to which games will be available for free on the PS5 and PS4. However, Comicbook has some predictions for the same.

Hitman 2, Godfall, and Journey to the Savage Planet might be free for PlayStation Plus users in January 2021

The classic game franchise Hitman has given many hits to the gaming community. The last game to come out as a part of the series was Hitman 2. However, seeing the launch of new consoles, IO Interactive found the perfect opportunity to release another title.

As Hitman 3 comes out in January 2021, it only makes sense to hype it up with an older title from the series. Therefore, Hitman 2 can be one of the top choices for PlayStation Plus to offer to PS4 and PS5 subscribers.

The next contender for a free offering on PS Plus is Godfall. The launch title and timed-exclusive failed to make the mark publishers expected. However, before the game launches for other platforms, PlayStation and Counterplay Games can milk it out by offering it for free to PS5 and PS4 users as a part of PS Plus.

Finally, as a great complementary game, Sony might work with 505 Studios to make Journey to the Savage Planet free on PS Plus. With the original studio being sold to Google, and its first anniversary in January, this is the perfect time for such a move. The game can make for a perfect companion for PS5 and PS4 players this January.

While all of these are just predictions, they make for a solid lineup of free games to start a year. With a relatively fresh game, a AAA title, and an indie game, PS Plus can offer a lot to PS4 and PS5 players.
