PlayStation 5 will receive a major boost for its games library with the arrival of Horizon: Forbidden West. The Guerrilla Games developed title will release on February 18, 2022 and fans have a lot of excitement. The sequel to the hit 2017 title Horizon Zero Dawn will continue the story of huntress Aloy in a post apocalyptic open world.

Following a lot of no news months from the developers, fans now have new information for the sequel which will release in a few months. They revealed some of the changes that players should expect to see in a blog post, and it sure looks like fans will have a lot of fun.

Horizon: Forbidden West gameplay won’t differ in different PlayStation consoles

In a recent blog post, developers from Guerrilla Games revealed the changes fans should expect with the sequel. In terms of the storyline, players will see the growth and changes in Aloy. This will mostly be affected by the new tribes and companions added to the franchise. Plus, the developers will also explore more about Aloy’s perspective as an outcast.

The sequel will also be the series’ first game that was developed with the PlayStation 5 in mind. The developers have mentioned that the console will definitely help them push the boundaries of visuals and gameplay. However, this won’t mean that fans on PlayStation 4 will have to worry about any shortcomings. This is because the developers will test the game on both consoles simultaneously for an amazing experience.

Combat and character model improvements

Along with that, the team has also mentioned that players will see a change in Aloy’s combat system. With experience on her side, fans will explore the added depth to the character’s combat system with tools like the Pullcaster and Shieldwing. Other than that, the developers have also talked about the changes to thecharacter models, especially of Aloy. The game will also focus a lot on the briefly mentioned Utaru tribe with updated designs.

Guerrilla Games have definitely increased the hype for the upcoming title with this blog post. Within the next few months, fans of the series will know more about the game and the new things they can expect. It remains to be seen how different the sequel will be from the original.
