PlayStation regarding Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered Version
The PS4 exclusive title, Marvel’s Spider-Man, released back in 2018. The game has sold over 20 million copies worldwide since, setting the bar high for its successor in Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Although it looks like the developers don’t want to let go of the game soon. As a result, Sony has announced a PS5 version of the 2018 game. However, Sony added a twist which may make a lot of fans quite upset.
The developers announced that the game will only be available to those who have purchased Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition on the PS5. This is clearly a let down for fans who would rather just buy the remastered edition.
Will the game be available as a standalone purchase
Surprisingly, the game is announced to be available as a download code, as mentioned above; however, the bigger question here is the developer’s strategy to charge for titles separately. Looking at the game’s previous records, it’s safe to assume that it will continue this success on the PS5 too.
This begs the question, is Sony really ignoring all the profit they can earn through the remastered version of the game?
However, individual game pages for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on the US and UK PlayStation Store websites had added an option to purchase the game as a standalone product. The game was available for $39.99 and £44.99, respectively.
Indeed, the option is now removed; although you can see the previous image down below when the option was available, all thanks to VGC.

According to this, Sony may plan to release the game as a standalone purchase sometime in the future. The developers releasing the game only for Spider-Man: Miles Morales users could be a pre-release plan before its standalone release.
