Sony brought together a huge team led by experts to craft the design of its new-gen console. The PlayStation 5 design is unique and different than any console design the world has witnessed previously. Even when we compare the PS5 design to its competitor, the Xbox Series X, the difference is in the face.

Xbox sports a very minimalistic and simple design. It is just a black cuboid that is meant to blend in perfectly with any furniture around it. The PS5, on the other hand, completely stands out. The design is a conversation starter in its own right.

Even with all the innovation around the design, many customers find it boring and have taken to themselves to change it. While to some it might be an atrocious idea to fidget with a delicate console, other creative gamers are showing off their PS5 makeovers on the internet.

This Twitter user said he used cutting tools to make the design. He is even willing to do it for others unless Sony has any legal problem with it.

The madness does not stop with paint jobs alone. Another Reddit user posted a PS5 console with a lit-up logo. The look is so natural it makes one think, why did Sony not do it themselves in the first place?

Sony reportedly had said it would not be launching the console in any other color. Nevertheless, the faceplates come off quite easily, and this being an intentional structural design can only mean the company must have plans lined up for later.
