NYON, Switzerland (Reuters) – European soccer governing body UEFA’s suspended President Michel Platini remains a candidate for the presidency of FIFA, UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino said after a meeting of UEFA’s member countries on Thursday.
He also said UEFA wanted FIFA to hold its congress and elect a new president to replace Sepp Blatter on Feb. 26 as scheduled.
