Brooks Koepka is one of the best players on the PGA Tour. He turned pro in 2012 and has been excellent with his performance since then. He has a Northern Irishman, Ricky Elliott, as his caddie. The combination has been successful and has been extending for several years.
Who is Ricky Elliott?
Ricky has played at Royal Portrush Golf Club as a junior and has won titles such as Ulster Boys Championship and Ulster Youth Championship. He is also a close friend of Ian Poulter and Graeme McDowell. Ricky represented Ireland in the 1990 European Youth Championship.

Ricky tried to make it as a pro on a mini-tour circuit in America but failed. He must feel dejected about what happened, considering the amount of money Koepka makes on the tour.
He started working with Koepka in 2013, a year after Brooks turned pro. But before that, he was with Ben Curtis during his 2012 Texas Open win. He has been with Brooks during all his four major championship victories. Ricky has become an integral part of Koepka’s golfing career and has guided him whenever required.
After Koepka’s second U.S. Open victory in 2018, Ricky gave an interview to ESPN and said, “He’s just a real strong mental guy, he’s unflappable. When he hits a bad shot, he never gives me any grief. He gets on with it. I mean, to this day, if we hit one over the back [of the green], he’d probably just turn around to me and go, ‘Well, I hit that quite a bit hard.’”
“Which is unusual for a good athlete or player,” Elliott added. “He takes a huge responsibility in what he’s doing out there. Makes my job very easy.” This statement shows the camaraderie and healthy relationship between these two.

Even Brooks Koepka thinks similar to his caddie. He showered a heap of praise on Ricky. “He is one of the reasons why I am successful as I am, I lean on him so much, He is always there you know good and bad, you can talk through some things even when things get a little bit difficult he can sort some things, and you know he is my eyes and ears.” Said Koepka in a post-round interview to Golf Channel.
