The 44-year-old Scott Gutschewski has earned a PGA Tour card for himself after 10 years. Meanwhile, he had last played on the PGA Tour for a full season in 2011. And since then in the last decade, he has only played in just two PGA Tour events. So, getting a PGA Tour card back this season after so many years is a special feeling for him.

Meanwhile, Scott spent the entire last decade on the Korn Ferry Tour, where he tried to earn his tour card back. But unfortunately, he just couldn’t make it. Moreover, he even had to face several injuries, which hampered his chances of getting back on the prestigious tour.

After losing the top-level status in 2012, Scott kept trying hard to get himself back on the tour. However, at some point, Gutschewski must have thought about giving up golf and taking a different job or something. But fortunately, he did not give up and kept grinding at the Korn Ferry Tour each year sincerely.

His persistence and patience were rewarded this time on Sunday in Ohio, where Scott finished T18 at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship. The top-20 finish was good enough for Gutschewski to earn a PGA Tour card. He scored 67 on the final day, which ensured that he gets himself in the top 20 and earns his PGA Tour card back after a decade.

Moreover, during his post-round interview on Sunday, Scott was speechless. He was very emotional after making it to the ultimate tour in golf, and while answering, he had tears of joy, and his voice choked. But the thing he emphasized was, “It’s hard. That’s not all I want to say, but that’s about all I can say. It’s just really hard,” said Gutschewski.
