The Wyndham Championship, which is the final regular event of the season on the PGA Tour, has begun. And the event had an enchanting start as more than a hundred players remained under par for the day. But unfortunately, the play had to be stopped due to inclement weather for around two hours. However, when the play resumed, they once again suspended it due to darkness.
There were plenty of low scores on day one. However, American golfer Russell Henley currently tops the leaderboard with a score of -8. But there are seven players in second place with a score of -6. So it is evident that the winning score is going to be super low, and we are in for a birdie fest. However, sadly, all 156 players cannot make it to the weekend, and organizers will impose a 36-hole cut to filter out the players.

Russell Henley takes the early lead, while Sabbatini continues with his good form
Meanwhile, Russell Henley had a bogey-free round and made six birdies and an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole. His putting was exceptional, along with his tee shots. Moreover, the Olympic silver medalist Rory Sabbatini has made a strong start as he finished -6 and is currently tied in second place along with six players.
Meanwhile, prominent names like Rickie Fowler, Hideki Matsuyama, and Matthew Wolff had a poor start. These players need a strong round two finish to make it through to the weekend. Rickie Fowler, who needs to finish in the top 21, completed his round one with a score of +1. Even though the course is on a relatively easier side where almost everyone is scoring under par, Fowler seems to have struggled a lot.

According to data golf, the current cutline is -4. The current cut probability is based on the round one performance of the players, but it can change pretty quickly. The course is playing on the easier side so, the cutline will most probably stay at -4 or may go down slightly to -3. Currently, there’s a 50.01% chance of cut line remaining at -4. However, there is a 30.8% chance of the cut line going down to -3.
